BRIEF INTRODUCTION ON KUNMING

Kunming (昆明), is the capital city of  Yunnan (云南), located in the middle of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. Before the 1920s, Kunming was formerly called Yunnanfu (云南府), literally meaning "Yunnan Capital"It is the political, economic, communications and cultural centre of Yunnan, and is the seat of the provincial government.

Kunming is exceptionally clean and tidy despite the population of 3.75 million and it is known as the 'City of Eternal Spring' and do not encounter any severe winters or hot summer.There are also many different cultures and nationalities thriving here. Various cultural and religious activities are practiced by the people here and add to the vibrancy and color of Kunming city life also including the wide range of cuisine and entertainment.

There is 5 districts and 8 counties in Kunming and there are 12 resident nationalities, including the Han (汉族), Yi (彝族), Hui (回族), Bai (白族), Miao (苗族), Lisu (傈僳族), Zhuang (壮族), Dai (傣族), Hani (哈尼族), Naxi (纳西族), Manchu (满族), Bouyei (布依族), Mongol (蒙古族), Lahu (拉祜族), Tibetan (藏族), Yao (瑶族), Jingpo (景颇族), Va (佤族), Blang (布朗族), Primi (普米族), Sui (水族), Achang (阿昌族), Nu (怒族), Jino (基诺族) and Derung (独龙族) residing and working in the city, and people of all the 26 nationalities of Yunnan Province can also be found here.
